WHY DO I NEED THE GLASS IN MY MACHINE TO BE APPROVED?

When we are going to replace a glass it is very important that we make sure that it is correctly approved, but what is the use of that?

Homologation is a seal that guarantees us that the glass we are distributing complies with all European (43R), American (DOT) or Chinese (CCC) regulations depending on the market where they are going to be used.

To achieve this seal, the glasses must go through strict controls to guarantee that it meets quality standards and, above all, safety. All glass must undergo these tests, although it is true that windshields are checked more carefully. In fact, most windshields are made of laminated glass to prevent them from detaching and shattering when they break, which can cause serious damage to the driver and cabin occupants.

To verify that a glass complies with the regulations required by the European Union, we must look at the screen-printed seal with the legend "43R" which indicates that it complies with Regulation No. 43 of Directive 92/22/EEC, updated as 2001/92/EC. The numerical code that we see below indicates the unique homologation series of each glass.

Sello homologación

The tests that the glasses must pass to achieve homologation focus on the following factors:

- Minimize damage in case of breakage to safeguard the integrity of the occupants of the cabin or the vehicle.

- Ensure that the glass has optimal transparency and does not interfere with visibility while driving or operating the machine.

- Withstand the effects caused by external agents such as wind, rain, landslides or impacts and act as acoustic insulation from external noise.

- In the event of a rollover, the windshield performs a structural function, minimizing the deformation of the roof and the cabin in general.

Of course, all our glasses are approved and, therefore, comply with both European (43R) and American (DOT) regulations. In any case, you can always check it by looking at the seal printed on the edges of the glass.

All our cabinglasses comply with European regulations 43R and AS1 and AS2 of the American DOT.
